Welcome To The Village of Mt. Auburn

Mt Auburn was founded on July 11, 1839. At one point in time, it was considered for the placement of the state capitol location. 

Mt. Auburn is well known for their annual picnic that is held every August. This picnic has been held in Mt. Auburn since 1919, and currently takes place in the Mt. Auburn City Park. 

Mt. Auburn is part of Christian County Illinois. As of 2010, the population of the Village of Mt. Auburn is 480. 


Local Announcements

Village Board Meetings

Regular monthly board meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month and begin at 7:00 pm at the village hall.  The public is always encouraged to attend.  Special board meetings and committee meetings are scheduled as needed.  Agendas for all meetings are posted on the front door of the Village Hall. 

Please notify the Village Clerk at least 72 hours in advance of Regular Meetings if there are any items that you would like added to the agenda.  Items missing from the Agenda will not be voted on.
